Custom Water Feature

Fountain Metalworks can also create a water feature from your design or collaborative ideas. We will take on the projects that most fabricators won’t. One of the most important elements for creating and building custom water features is the ability to not only design the water feature but to also know how it will be physically built and installed. There are many great designers and there are many great builders. However, if you have a designer that is not familiar with how a water features works or a builder that can think outside the industry norms, your project comes to a standstill. We are proud to say that, the custom projects feed our soul. We love the challenge of building something that has never been done before.

You’ll see an image of what we call, The Wavy water feature. This project came to us after the contractor talked with five or six other metal fabricators. All of them thought in the same manner. The water feature was to be located against a large block wall and between a metal staircase. The location of the home was up a very steep hill and access was extremely challenging. Every fabricator battled with the idea of getting a crane in place to install what they would build. Cost came in extremely high or request to remove the staircase which was not an option. When the contractor came to us, I made a visit to the property and set a plan of attack in motion. We made our bid for the job with a reasonable price and an install without a crane or removing the staircase. A little secret, as the owner of Fountain Metalworks, I have a background in travelling in the entertainment industry. We moved from city to city setting up and tearing down huge stages and shows on a daily basis. This knowledge allowed me to see the project with a different perspective. We simply built the water feature in “bite sized” pieces that we could carry into place and assemble the pieces to create a 16′ tall 10′ wide cascading wavy water feature.
